at the time, I unfortunately replied to your letter on

the 18th instant without looking at the file.

I still think, as I said in my letter, that

we could not have anyone better than Mr. Wilfred Lewis

for this or any other complicated case, but of course

I should not have agreed to your briefing him on this

occasion had I realised that this was the very case in

which in view of Mr. Bushe's wishes I had particularly

asked you to instruct Mr. Fready.
